Objective To analyze the effects of Banxia Xiexin decoction on the clinical effect, immune function and serum interleukin-2(IL-2), interleukin-6(IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis of spleen-stomach damp-heat type. Methods 160 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis of the spleen-stomach damp-heat type treated in the Sichuan Second Hospital of TCM from June 2017 to February 2021 were selected as the research objects, and which were divided into the control group and the research group with 80 patients in each group by random number table method. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional medications(Lansoprazole tablets, Amoxicillin capsules and Clarithromycin capsules), and patients in the research group were treated with Banxia Xiexin decoction quantitatively based on the control group, both groups were treated for 1 months. The clinical efficacy, main TCM syndrome score, percentage of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and ratio of CD4+/CD8+, serum levels of IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the research group was 93.75%, which was higher than 73.75% of the control group; the percentage of CD3+, CD4+ and the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ in the two groups were higher than before treatment, and the research group was higher than the control group; the TCM syndrome score, percentage of CD8+, serum levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-α in the two groups were lower than before treatment, and the research group was lower than the control group(all P<0.05). Conclusion Combined therapy with Banxia Xiexin decoction can significantly improve the clinical efficacy and immune function of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis of spleen-stomach damp-heat type, reduce the inflammatory response of the body, and promote the relief of clinical symptoms, and with high safety
