Abstract:Objective To compare the application efficacy of Tri-lock bone preservation stem (Tri-lock BPS) and Corail femoral stem prosthesis in total hip arthroplasty, to analyze the effect on the recovery of hip joint function of patients. Methods The clinical data of 79 cases patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty in Chinese Medicine Hospital of Leshan City Proper from July 2017 to May 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the different of prosthesis, they were divided into the Tri-lock BPS group [33 cases (33 hips), using Tri-lock BPS prosthesis during the operation] and the Corail group [46 cases (46 hips), using Corail femoral stem prosthesis during the operation], all patients were follow-up for 12 months after operation. The perioperative indicators, length difference of double lower limbs before operation and 2 weeks after operation, bone mass preservation area of the broadest part in femur lesser trochanter and bone mass preservation volume between femur lesser and greater trochanter, the Harris functional score before operation and 12 months after operation, the incidence of postoperative complications of patients in the two groups were compared. Results There was no statistical significance in the difference of operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative drainage volume and total incidence of postoperative complications of patients between the two groups (all P>0.05); the bone mass preservation area of the broadest part in femur lesser trochanter and bone mass preservation volume between femur lesser and greater trochanter in the Tri-lock BPS group were significantly higher than those in the Corail group (all P<0.05); two weeks after operation, the length difference of double lower limbs in the two groups were significantly lower than that before operation, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05); compared with before operation, the scores of pain, function, deformity, joint range of motion and Harris function total score of patients in the two groups 12 months after operation increased significantly, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusion Tri-lock BPS and Corail femoral stem prosthesis have good stability and safety in total hip arthroplasty, but the Tri-lock BPS prosthesis helps preserve more bone mass.
